The Beginnings of Fossil Creek Trading Company
For many years he traveled – across America and then moving on to foreign shores. Always in search of an adventure: always wanting to bring back something that would remind him of his journey. His family looked forward to all of the packages sent home. One never knew what might be in the package. The anticipation was just as great as if it were Christmas. There was always something for someone.
Some years later, he realized he was on to something. People were always looking forward to the gifts he brought back. It was then the entrepreneur behind Fossil Creek Trading Company knew he could combine what he enjoyed doing into a viable business – providing customers with unique items. As a result, Fossil Creek Trading Company came to be more than a decade ago.
Fossil Creek Trading Company has grown over the years and offers customers products that are a cut above the rest from gourmet coffees to unique snacks to gift items. Each product is selected with care. From travels to Guatemala and Peru came handcrafted items such as colorful beaded ornaments and clay nativities.
A staple while visiting Guatemala was the flavorful coffee. A natural extension was to develop a coffee line and thus genesis of the Fossil Creek Trading Company's gourmet coffee line. What started with the founding coffees such as Mogollon Mudd and Southwestern Red Chile, has now grown into a full line of Arizona-themed and Route 66-themed coffees. Most recently added to Fossil Creek Trading Company’s products were the Arizona and Route 66 snack lines.
One of the newest outlets of growth is an Internet presence, which allows customers greater access to Fossil Creek Trading Company. Additionally, Fossil Creek Trading Company has added a network of 30 websites focusing on cities and towns throughout Arizona. Our Products
The Making of Fossil Creek Trading Company’s Gourmet Coffees
Roasting coffee is truly an art. All of Fossil Creek Trading Company's coffees are 100% Arabica, hand-picked and grown on mountain elevations more than 3,000 feet. All of our roasts are air roasted is considered to be one of the most consistent roasting methods. An Air Roaster suspends the beans in the roasting chamber on a bed of hot air. The tumbling action created by the circulating hot air removes the bitter "chaff" that surrounds each coffee bean. 
But it isn't only the roasting process that guarantees the fresh flavors of our coffees. Only the top 5% of the best coffee beans available are used in our gourmet coffees.
Original Blends
Fossil Creek Trading Company offers original blends of gourmet coffee in attractive packaging. In fact, to complement our coffees an Arizona artist was commissioned to create many of the labels on our products. Fossil Creek’s original blends include:
- Mogollon Mudd and Mogollon Mudd Decaf. (Whole Bean or Ground) Made from Colombian coffee beans. Medium body with balanced acidity.
- Mountain Blend and Mountain Blend Decaf. (Whole Bean or Ground) A rich, full-bodied coffee with a dark-roast blend.
- Sedona Blend and Sedona Blend Decaf. (Whole Bean or Ground) A mellow espresso blend with an exceptional amount of crema.
- Southwestern Red Chile Coffee (Ground) A special blend that heralds the Southwest with a hint of spices unique to the region.
Regional blends include the Payson Rodeo Roast and the Zane Grey Cabin Cowboy Roast.
Flavored Coffee Blends
Inspired by Route 66, our flavored coffee blends start with prime Central American beans. After the coffee beans are roasted and still warm, the coffee beans are flavored with liquid extracts.

A natural outgrowth from our signature coffee lines was the development of a tempting and tasty snack line. Something for everyone from trail mixes to candy. Once again, only the choicest of ingredients would go into our snacks.
Each snack is packaged in an 8 oz. resealable bag. Original art designs by an Arizona artist are a part of each label. Snack selections include the Route 66 (named for cities and towns the Mother Road runs through in Arizona), Cowboy and Grand Canyon product lines.
